Gorillas
Scientific Name: Gorilla Beringei
Why is the Gorilla endangered?
The gorilla does not have many predators the only predator they do have is the leopard. The biggest threat to
gorillas is man. In recent years they have decreased in population due to loss of habitats, poaching, and disease.
Many Africans feel that they are in competition with the gorillas so they kill them thinking that they will let humans have a better
life.

- Nest predation occurs frequently in the rainforest.
- Nests are the target of such predators as birds, snakes, monkeys, cats, and even army ants.
- Predation in the rainforest can be thought of as a tropical selection pressure.
